On January 10, the Chamber joined with over fifty other business
organizations to send a letter to Office of Management and Budget Acting
Director Jeffrey Zients emphasizing the importance of adequate funding
to ensure appropriate U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) staffing
at U.S. ports of entry. The letter states in part: "While CBP's role of
protecting our country and facilitating legitimate trade and travel is
critical to the physical and economic security of the U.S., staffing at
U.S. ports of entry has failed to keep up with the increased demand of
trade and travel." For more information, contact Adam Salerno, Director
